Hats & Shoes

Traditional Sami hats and shoes are made to withstand the extreme and disparate weather conditions of the North. During the Winter, they must be warm and windproof. While, during the Summer they need to be waterproof and must protect from mosquitos. These are often used for Northern Sami attire or while working in nature. These garments are highly connected to family traditions and heritage by the way they are made and worn and therefore custom-made for the wearer.

The area and family traditions are important for the bearer so with regards for the bearer and the tradition copying and reproducing is very disrespectful.
